National Webinar on Forensic Nursing

The National Webinar on Forensic Nursing was held on 20th July 2022 starting at 09:00 a.m. with the SBV Anthem followed by a Welcome address by Prof. Dr. Helen Shaji J.C, Principal, Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing. Then Felicitation by Prof. Dr. Udit P Das, Dean SSSMCRI  followed by the inaugural address by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SBV University Prof. Subash Chandra Parija, and a vote of thanks proposed by Prof.A.L Mahalakshmi, Vice Principal, SSSCON. The official Programme ended with the National anthem at 09.30 a.m. First Scientific Session started at 9.40 a.m, on the topic, Introduction to the webinar objectives presented by Prof (Dr.) Dipayan Deb Barman Professor & HOD Forensic Medicine & Toxicology SSSMCRI. The second session started at 9.45 a.m on the topic Scope & Standards of Forensic Nursing Practice and was presented by Dr. Sara Jennings, DNP, RN, SANE-A, SANE -P, AFN- BC and then the third Session started at 10.30 a.m on the topic Introduction to Forensic Nursing services and its importance in the health care sector by Dr. Kirandeep Dhaliwal, Vice- Principal, MM College of Nursing, Maharishi Markandeshwar, Mullana-Ambala, Haryana. The fourth Session started at 11.15 a.m on the topic Road map for the development of a full-fledged functional Forensic nursing unit in a health care Institute by Prof. Rakesh Gorea, Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, Gian Sagar Medical College, Punjab. The fifth Session started at 12.00 a.m on the topic Forensic Nursing Challenges & Opportunities in 21st Century Healthcare Sector Scenario by Prof.Dasari Harish Head, Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Government Medical College Chandigarh. The last Session started at 12.45 a.m on the topic of Legal aspects of forensic  Nursing services by  Mr. L. Swaminathan, Senior  Advocate, Pondicherry. A total of 752 delegates registered for the Webinar. About 358 delegates attended the Webinar through both offline and Online modes. The National Webinar had a voracious response from the delegates and successfully completed at 1.45 pm.
