The State level workshop on “Forensic Nursing – A New Door Open To Nurses” organised by I year M.Sc. Nursing students (2016-2017 batch) was held on12th April 2017(Wednesday) with Dr. Gitanjali D, Associate Professor and HOD Department of Forensic Medicine, Government Medical College, Villupuram as the Chief Guest presided by Our Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. K.R.Sethuraman, SBV. The inaugural address was given by Vice Chancellor Prof. K.R.Sethuraman SBV. He in his address appreciated PG students for taking this initiatives and suggested that program of this kind can be organised once in six months. The workshop – An overview was presented by Dr. Renuka K Dean, Faculty of Nursing Sciences, SBV. The bundle of knowledge was compressed in a CD and was released by the Chief Guest. Prof. M.Ravishankar, Dean, MGMCRI felicitated the gathering and he emphasized that the Forensic Nursing is new to nursing field. Key note address was given by the chief guest, Dr. Gitanjali D Associate Professor and HOD Department of Forensic Medicine, Government Medical College, Villupuram. She stated that Forensic science was very interesting and challenging field & the role of nurses in this area is very vital. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Priyalatha G, M.Sc. Nursing, I year KGNC student. The assemblage of eminent speakers in the field of Forensic Nursing across the state rendered their deliberations. By 4.30 p.m. The valedictory session commenced. The total numbers of delegates were 250. Prof. Sumathi P, HOD, Department of. Paediatric Nursing, KGNC issued the Certificates. The overall feedback was obtained through the online. Feedback was graded as excellent and very good.
