 SCENT 2019 hands-on cadaveric workshop on head and neck surgery was organized by the department of ENT, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute on 23.03.19 from 8.30am to 5.00pm.The resource person Dr.Thirunavukarasu, Professor of ENT, ChettinadMedical College. The resource person has trained abroad in head and neck surgeries. There were 10 registrations on the hands-on workshop. There were 2 spot registrations for observation. Almost 20 postgraduates consultants took part in the workshop either as the observer or as a dissector. We had Registrations throughout from south India (4 registrations from Andhra Pradesh,1 from ESI Ayanavaram, Chennai, 1 from Madha Medical College Chennai and 1 from Madras Medical College). The Programme started at 9.00 am with a lecture by the resource person.Dr. P.F Kotur, Dean SSSMCRI, inaugurated the session at 9.30am.
The Resource person demonstrated Thyroidectomy, Submandibular gland dissection and other head and neck surgeries. There was a live transmission to the other Delegates room,10 participants one on each side underwent hands-on training for the common head and neck surgeries. The resource person came to the tables and cleared all the doubts of the participants. The programme ended with a Valedictory function, the speaker was honored with a shawl and memento. All participants were given a feedback form and feedback was analyzed.
