World AIDS Day was commemorated at Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing and an Awareness Program was organized in the First Year Lecture Hall, SSSCON, College Block on 01.12.2021. The Theme of this World AIDS Day is “End inequalities, End AIDS, End Pandemics.”. The aim of the program was to create awareness among the nursing students about prevention, management and control of HIV and AIDS. The program was organized by Dr.Helen Shaji J.C. Principal Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, the event was coordinated by Mrs.Kumari Kalyani B., Associate Professor, and Mr.Snowden, Assistant Professor, SSSCON. The program started at 10.00 am with a welcome note by Mr.Snowden, Assistant Professor and he unfolded the theme of this year’s World AIDS Day and spoke on the significance of the day. The first session was taken by Mr.Snowden, Assistant Professor, SSSCON, on “Basics of HIV / AIDS” The second session was taken by Mrs.Kumari Kalyani B., Associate Professor, SSSCON, on “Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS”. Followed by this a quiz program was conducted through Kahoot Platform, Mr.Muhammed Rijas K, Bsc Nursing I Year, won the First place, Ms.Bhagitha, Nursing III Year, won the Second place, and Ms.Swathi M., Bsc Nursing I Year, won the Third place. The winners and participants of the quiz were given certificates, and the program ended at 12.30 pm.
