 
In commemoration of World Mental Health Day 2014, The Department of Psychiatry organized the following events:
A mental health awareness program was organized in the MRD lobby of the hospital building, for the benefit of the patients and the public, at 08:45 AM on 10-10-2014. Dr. Avudaiappan S, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, delivered a mental health awareness talk in Tamil, elucidating the basic concepts of mental health & mental illness.
Dr. Abu Backer, Senior Resident, delivered a capsule talk titled “Mental capital & global well-being” at the meeting of the Scientific & Academic Forum, at 02:00 PM on 10-10-2014.
