World Tuberculosis Day was commemorated at Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing on 24th March 2021. An awareness program was organized by Dr.Helen Shaji, Principal, Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, and coordinated by AL Mahalakshmi, Vice Principal, and Mr. Snowden, Assistant Professor. The goal was to create awareness among the public on the curable and preventable nature of Tuberculosis, and combined efforts to end TB. The theme of this World Tuberculosis Day is “The Clock is Ticking.” The first-year BSc nursing students presented an interactive health talk at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute Hospital Reception at10:30am, to the patients and relatives who come to the OPD. The students explained the various aspects of tuberculosis, like causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, using charts and illustrations. It was a lively audience of about 65 people. Prof.A.L.Mahalakshmi, concluded the program by answering the doubts asked by the audience.
