Anti - ragging

Anti – Ragging and Grievance Redressal cell, School of Pharmacy, SBVU:

As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and in accordance with the University Grants Commission regulation, the anti-ragging and grievance redressal cell of School of Pharmacy, SBVU constituted earlier, 2019 and was reconstituted for the academic year 2024-2025 by the head of the institution, SoP with such representation to ensure zero tolerance towards ragging. This cell oversights the students in SoP concerning ragging and harassment by adapting UGC anti-ragging measures to create a cordial relation among the students and to provide a ragging free atmosphere.

The anti-ragging cell members of SoP have been monitoring and sensitising the students to curb the menace of ragging by:

  • Conducting induction programme for freshers of SoP. During induction programme of 2023 – 2027 Batch
  • V. Alamelu, Associate Professor, SoP had conducted and guided the students regarding online registration of UGC anti-ragging undertaken form on 06.09.2023.
  • G. Dayanidy, Assistant Professor, CYTER had instructed the importance of Yoga and Yoga therapy among the students on 07.09.2023 to tackle the problematic situations arises due to stress.
  • Shantha Devi, Vice President of Student affairs, IGIDS, SBVU to sensitize the students on the topic “Sensitization to prevent ragging” on 11.09.2023.
  • R. Karthikeyan, SoP delivered a speech titled “How to manage stress” to overcome the stress related issues during exams on 13.09.2023.
  • M. Prabu, Associate professor, SoP had oriented the students about the concept of mentor- mentee to make a comfortable bond between the faculties and students on 16.09.2023.
  • Shobana, ISCM, SBVU conducted a music therapy class to foster a positive environment to improve the stress management thereby preventing and reducing the psychological issues on 09.04.2024.
  • Posters on anti-ragging with helpline toll free number 1800-180-5522 and maid id [email protected] were displayed in the notice board to create the awareness among the students.
  • As a proactive step towards ensuring a safe environment for the students, the Grievance Cell Box was placed in our institute.
  • Each faculty of SoP were allotted with mentees to share their thoughts and grievance during every Saturday from 11.45 to 12.30 PM which is allotted as a mentorship hour to the students to eliminate the scourge of ragging.
  • The student hostels are possessed with anti-ragging sign boards and the helpline numbers in the notice board with full time residential warden to monitor the students.
