Multi-Specialty Hospital - Clinical Facilities
Our multi-speciality hospital caters to a large number of the needy, as inpatients and out-patients, providing specialized care in all the departments. Nursing students are really privileged to have clinical exposure in their own parent multi-speciality hospital with 870 bed strength and other affiliated multi-speciality hospitals. SSSMCRI is a 870 bedded Multi speciality hospital with Hi-tech laboratories and clinical departments. The hospital beds are distributed in all the wards with adequate services, housing all the disciplines. It also boasts of well equipped modern operation theatres, Critical Care Units, CSSD, Blood Bank and a Dialysis Unit with sophisticated and life saving devices. The OP department sections have also been designed spaciously with demonstration rooms for clinical presentation.
Community Health Services
SSSMCRI operates two Health Centers, Urban Health Training Centre at Tiruporur (7Kms from SSSMCRI) which covers 6 villages and 31,711 population and Rural Health Training Centre at Sembakkam (5 Kms from SSSMCRI) which covers 4 villages and 8260 population. The Institute has been allotted to the primary Health centre by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Tamilnadu. Each health centre is endowed with a well equipped laboratory and ward with 5-6 Beds. In addition to OPD services, specialists from the departments of Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Venerology & Leprology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dentistry hold specialty clinics, as per the weekly schedule at the health centers. These two health centres will be taken up and being utilized by our college for field training activities such as home visits, nutrition demonstration, health education, and school health services.
Library
The nursing college has got its own library in addition to the central library shelved around 10000 textbooks including department & 10,000 e-learning books. Nursing & nursing-related science books in different titles, current Indian and foreign journals as required are adequately stacked to cater the needs of students of the Nursing Programs and faculty members.
Hostel Facilities
Separate well-furnished hostels for girls and boys are available on the college campus which is spacious, well-ventilated and air-conditioned. Students are provided ozonized, purified RO water; hygienically prepared and high-quality vegetarian meals are also served. Students can spend their leisure times in the park, playground, and canteen.
Transport Facilities
Our Institute has its own fleet of buses for safe transport for outreach services and observational visits for the students.
