 
The second in series of state-level, spine back to basic cadaver workshop was organized by department of orthopedics, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and research institute on 06/04/19 (Saturday). This workshop was successful and fulfilled the aspirations of the delegates. This time we have improved our facility by adding one c- arm (image intensifier) in the cadaver lab. This is really a booster and enhances the image of our facility in the midst of competitors.
The inauguration started at 09.30 am with a prayer song, our respected dean gave the inaugural address after lighting the kuthuvilakku. Prof. P.f Kotur emphasized the need for continuing medical education and the importance of young upcoming orthopedic surgeons to utilize this type of near-normal surgical exposures.
The guest faculties were introduced by prof. S. Karunakaran. After the vote of thanks, the function concluded with the national anthem.
Totally 20 delegates were registered out of which twelve were from different parts of Tamilnadu. Four guest faculties headed by Prof. S. Karunakaran of Global Gleneagles has shared their experience. The guest faculties are Dr. R. Krishnakumar, Dr. Vignesh Jayabalan, and Dr. Sathik babu.
This time hands-on workshop for pedicle screw fixation and (tlif) transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion techniques were shared.
The programme went on up to 3 pm. Feedback received from all the delegates which revealed 90 percent of good to a very good review.
