Besides being a Surgeon par excellence, his passion for teaching led him to work as a faculty of NTTC, JIPMER for 26 years, training over 2500 medical teachers. Amongst his innumerable publications, the book “Medical Education, Principles and Practice” and “Medical Postgraduate Dissertations – a step by step approach” are most popular works. AK introduced several innovations both in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He played a key role as a member of the Consortium of medical colleges, which formed the basis of MCI MBBS regulations 1997. As a strong advocate of Competency Based medical education, AK is committed to the task of pushing research and allied health sciences to a new height.
