LITERARY CLUB
BACKGROUND
The literary club of KGNC started in 2004 to encourage our students to develop the taste for literature and horn their spoken, written and their dramatic skills. The sole purpose of the club is to cater to the needs of the students and also to develop their interest in literature and language. The Literary Club aims to develop analytical and creative thinking. The club offers a competing platform for students with knowledge thirst. It promises to cultivate a passion for quizzing, Debating, creative writing, literature, Elocution, etc., among the students.
Objectives
- To provide students excess treasure of knowledge.
- To develop an interest in language or literature.
- To enable the students to acquire mastery in communication.
- To utilize their leisure time in a very useful and fruitful way.
- The students learn how to organize their ideas and encourage them to become creative writers and speakers.
- To enhance and uplift the professional status.
- To develop imagination power and also critical thinking among students.
- To provide the student’s lot of opportunities for instantaneous thinking and speaking.
- To increase daily awareness and helps boost positive habits like reading and independent research.
Functions
- To develop self-efficacy and confidence and would help to enhance the general knowledge base.
- Working in tandem to benefit students in the disciplines of writing and speaking by conducting events that are both instructional and enjoyable.
- Sharpening the skills of logical thinking.
- It develops excellent communication skills and teaches students to think spontaneously.
- Utilize each person’s talents to provide a variation in the activities carried out by students.
- Build confidence to be at ease not only professionally but also socially.
ACTIVITIES
- Organizes various literary competitions every month.
- Motivates students to participate in Intercollegiate Literary Competitions
- Prepares students with the ways to participate in a better way
- Organizes various sessions that help the students to improve their communication.
Students Role
- To represent the student’s interest regarding literary activities.
- To motivate the students of all batches to participate in all literary activities.
Resolution
- The students passed out of KGNC should have acquired good speaking and writing skills
Future plan
- To host the intercollegiate literary competition between the Nursing colleges in Puducherry.
