Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) invites ONLINE APPLICATIONS in the prescribed form for admission to Ph.D. in the following disciplines offered at its constituent teaching units and its institutes in Puducherry and Chennai campuses. UGC-NET cleared applicants should submit a copy of their certificate to claim exemption from Written Test. They shall directly appear for online Interview.

Ph.D. PROGRAMMES available at SBV PUDUCHERRY & CHENNAI Campuses

  FACULTY OF MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, PHARMACY, PHYSIOTHERAPY, YOGA THERAPY, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

1. Ph.D. Part-time (Internal) – For Faculty who are presently working at SBV
2. Ph.D. Part-time (External) – Faculty who will continue to work from other Institutions
3. Ph.D. Full-time- with Shri MVK Iyer Junior Research Fellowship. (Shri M.V.K.IYER JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (JRF) is provided for meritorious students. The Fellowship amount is Rs.20, 000 per month for a maximum duration of Three years and annual contingency of Rs. 25,000/-in second and third year subject to the receipt of satisfactory annual progress report and publication of at least one Research Publication per year in SCOPUS Journals.

Note: 50% Fee concession in ALL fees is provided for FULL-TIME Ph.D. CANDIDATES ONLY.

Eligibility:

a. Postgraduate degree from any recognized University in any one of the subjects:

• Faculty of Medicine: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology & Pharmacology.
• Faculty of Science: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Nano Sciences.
• Faculty of Pharmacy: M.Pharm. in any branch or Pharm D.
• Faculty of Allied Health Sciences: M.Sc. in any branch
• Faculty of Biomedical Sciences: M.Sc.
• Physiotherapy: M.P.T.
• Yoga therapy: M.Sc. Yoga therapy
• Multi-Disciplinary Research: M.Sc.

b. 4 year/8-Semester Bachelor’s degree programme from an institution recognised by UGC (75% marks in aggregate or equivalent GPA)

c. MBBS/BDS recognised by Regulatory body (60% marks in aggregate or equivalent GPA)

 The Minimum duration of Ph.D. course (Full time/Part time) is THREE years as per UGC regulations, 7^th November, 2022. However, if the student does not complete within this three year period shall continue to pay the annual tuition. Extension will be given as per SBV/UGC guidelines. Annual Tuition fee must  be paid during the course duration of Ph.D. till the Submission of Ph.D. SYNOPSIS.

• SBV is listed under section 12 B of the UGC Act, 1956 enabling candidates with valid Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from UGC / CSIR / ICMR / DBT / DST / GATE / AYUSH / INSPIRE / NET, etc. for admission to PhD programme.
• PhD Scholars registered with SBV will be encouraged to pursue the part of their PhD programme at Vector Control Research Institute (ICMR – VCRC), Pondicherry, French Institute, Pondicherry and other institutes of repute, under the MoUs signed between SBV and other

NABL accredited molecular diagnostic laboratories, Centre for Healthcare Artificial Intelligence and Research (CHAIR), Zebra Fish Facility, MGM PRE-CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTRE, American Heart Association approved Medical Simulation Centre, Advanced Surgical Training and Research Academy (ASTRA), DSIR approved Research & Development Facility, (MGMARI)CDSCO approved Clinical Trial Centre, Sleep Lab, Transplantation facility, Cell Culture facility, karyotyping facility.

The applicants can apply through the online portal https://application.sbvu.ac.in/. Last date for receipt of online applications with scanned documents is 21^st January 2025. Kindly have the soft copies of the Certificates and Passport Size Photo before initiating the application form.

Steps to Apply:

2. Log in with your credentials and click “Start New Application”
3. Select “Click here to Apply for Doctoral Programme (Ph.D) at SBV” to start the application form and fill the details.
4. Upload the Certificates and make the payment of application fees Rs. 1000/-

Note: We will consider the application only if you complete the payment process. You can also see status of payment and verification in your dashboard. Payment status will be reflected immediately and verification status will be reflected within 48 hours.

1. Ph.D. Registration fees (one time, during admission): Rs. 5,000/-
2. Tuition fees per annum: Rs. 40,000/- per year
3. Ph.D. Synopsis Submission fees: Rs. 10,000/-
4. Ph.D. Thesis Submission fees: Rs. 35,000/-

DECLARATION OF RESULT: On the basis of ONLINE examination and ONLINE interview to be conducted on 27^th January, 2025, “Provisional list” of Selected Ph.D. scholars ALONG WITH THE ALLOTMENT OF THEIR RESPECTIVE GUIDES will be displayed in our website on or before 06^th February, 2025 (06/02/2025).

PAYMENT OF FEES TO CONFIRM JOINING Ph.D.: Ph.D. applicants willing to join as Part-time External/ Part-time Internal should pay One-time Registration fee–Rs. 5000/- and annual tuition fees –Rs. 40,000/-, both as a single Razor pay transfer of Rs.45,000/- on or before 17^TH February, 2025 (5pm, Server time).

Ph.D. Full-time applicants should pay Rs. 22,500/-

THE TENTATIVE TIME LINE for the Ph.D. 2025- I Batch intake will be as follows:

1. Call for Application: 15th December, 2024
2. Last Date for receipt of duly filled applications: (on or before) 21st January, 2025
3. ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST & ONLINE INTERVIEW : 27th January, 2025
4. Provisional selection list & Guide allotment: 06th February, 2025
5. Acceptance and Payment of Fees (RTGS): (on or before) 17th February, 2025
6. Verification of Original Certificates, Ph.D. Induction Program and Ph.D. course commencement on: 03rd March, 2025

No refund of Application/Tuition fees once paid under any circumstances.

1. Physical presence of Full time/Part time-Internal and Part time-External (including overseas) Ph.D. scholars in RAC Meetings (conducted once in six months) is MANDATORY.

2. Part time External students are expected to spend 30 days every year at SBV during RAC Meetings and regular interaction with their Primary Guides.

 Please note that SBV does not conduct Ph.D. by online or through correspondence.

4. CHANGE OF Ph.D. STATUS AND INSTITUITION

The change of Ph.D. status from Full Time, Part time Internal, Part time external and migration to other institutions: These can be made only with the prior approval from the Dean Research, SBV. An application has to be submitted along with a fee of Rs. 5,000/- by Razor pay to effect the change. Otherwise the students have to discontinue their Ph.D. programme and apply in the next Batch.

5. IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO PART TIME EXTERNAL STUDENTS:

 BEFORE APPLYING FOR Ph.D. AT SBV, PART TIME EXTERNAL STUDENTS MUST ENSURE

(i). The institute where the scholar works has the infrastructure, equipments and facilities to support the research work related to the Ph.D. thesis topic of the Part-time External scholar.

(ii)They have Government approved and functional Human Ethics/Animal Ethics Committee in their Institutions.

(iii). They shall attach scanned copy of NOC from the Head of their Institution

(iv). Attach the acceptance letter from their co-guide in their department together with his/her brief CV and list of Research Publications.

Instructions for filling up Online application forms & attaching self-attested certificate copies:

(a). Application forms are available online only. It should be duly filled up by the candidates and submitted online along with the scanned copies of  requested documents as PDF  (Document Size not exceeding 3 MB) and recent passport size color photograph as attachment (jpeg format, Size:250 KB).

 (b) Candidates should attach only scanned copies of Self Attested Certificates   related to qualification, age and community namely HSC Mark sheet(s), UG Degree, PG Degree, Birth Certificate, Community Certificate and Experience certificate etc.

Original Mark Sheet(s) of the Qualifying examination and other Documents MUST be produced for Verification at the time of Ph.D. Induction programme at SBV, Pondicherry.

(c) Applications will not be entertained if incomplete or uploaded without attaching the scanned copies of the relevant certificates and without paying the registration fee online.

(d) All Entrance /Interview related communications like Hall Ticket/Call Letter, Entrance/Interview Results and Counseling Intimation Order etc., will be sent through Application Portal as well as in our website only. Hence the candidates are advised to keep their User ID and Password for their future reference. No separate communication will be sent to any individual e-mail or SMS.

(e) It is the responsibility of the applicant to keep himself / herself updated about the Common Entrance Test / Admission process through the Application portal.

Submission of Falsified documents / certificates shall lead to cancellation of Ph.D. admission.
