Selection of Students for the UG AHS and BPT programmes

Regarding the Selection to UG AHS programmes and BPT offered under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, the selection will be based on the merit at the SBV Common Entrance Test followed by the Counseling conducted by SBVDUCET 2023. The Entrance Test will comprise 100 MCQs of 1 mark each from the subjects Physics (25), Chemistry (25) and Biology (50) at the Higher Secondary Level. The candidates should have scored at least 50% (in aggregate) in the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at +2 level for becoming eligible to appear for the SBV Common Entrance Test. A relaxation up to a maximum of 5% in the aggregate required will be given for the candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC categories. Mathematics is desirable for certain UG AHS programmes as per the table mentioned above. The duration of the Common Entrance Test is three hours from 02.30 pm to 05.30 pm. The Choice of the specialty in the UG AHS programme and the seat in BPT would be allotted in the order of merit scored at the SBV Common Entrance Test and this allotment would be done during the Counseling session.

The Common Entrance Test for the UG – AHS programmes / BPT opted at SBV Main Campus (MGMCRI) will be held at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Pondicherry and UG – AHS programmes opted at SBV Off Campus (SSSMCRI) will be held at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College & Research Institute, Ammapettai, Chengalpet District on 24/06/2023 (AN) and the Counseling session for the candidates who have opted for both MGMCRI & SSSMCRI will be held only at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Pondicherry on 06/07/2023 and 07/07/2023 between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, following the declaration of the merit list at the Common Entrance Test.

Allotment of different specialties for BPT & UG AHS programme will be done as follows, at the Counseling session to be conducted only at the Pondicherry campus based on the merit at the Common Entrance Test conducted by SBV.

Separate merit list, based on SBVDUCET 2023 will be drawn for Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute and Shri Sathya Sai Medical College & Research Institute.

1. The allotment of the specialty for School of Allied Health Sciences, MGMCRI, BPT at Academic Department of Physiotherapy, MGMCRI and School of Allied Health Sciences, SSSMCRI will be based on the choice of the candidate at the counseling session which in turn would be based on the merit (rank) scored at the individual level by the candidate at the SBVDUCET – 2023.
2. If the candidate’s choice cannot be accommodated due to the allotment of that particular specialty to the candidates in the higher order of the merit list, SBV reserves the right to allot the Specialty based on the existing availability of seats. Attending the Counseling is mandatory.
3. Mere appearance in the Common Entrance Test and attending the counseling will not guarantee a seat for the applicant.

Selection of Students for the PG AHS/MPT programmes

The selection to the Postgraduate programmes offered under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences at MGMCRI & SSSMCRI and MPT programmes will be based on the merit at the qualifying degree and the performance at the interview/test conducted by SBV only at its Main Campus (Pondicherry).

Instructions for filling up Online application forms and attaching self-attested copies of certificates

Application forms are available online only. It should be duly filled up by the candidates and submitted online along with the scanned copies of requested documents as pdf (Document Size not exceeding 3 MB) and recent passport size color photograph as attachment (jpeg format, Size: 250 KB).
The Registration fee of Rs.500/-(Rupees Five hundred only) paid online, while submitting the online application, will not be refunded under any circumstance
Candidates should attach only scanned copies of Self Attested Certificates related to qualification, age and community namely HSC Mark sheet(s), Birth Certificate and Community Certificate etc. The Mark Sheet(s) of the Qualifying examination in original and other Original Documents have to be produced only at the time of counseling.
Applications will not be entertained if incomplete or uploaded without attaching the scanned copies of the relevant certificates and without paying the registration fee online.
Candidates who have appeared for the HSC (10+2) Examination/ UG Examinations in March-April, 2023 should necessary enclose a scanned copy of the HSC (10+2)/ equivalent exam / UG Examination Hall ticket with the online application form. If the HSC Mark List / UG mark sheets is not available at the time of applying the candidates should send the scanned copy of their HSC mark list /UG mark sheets prior to the date of Common Entrance Test / admission process without fail.
The scanned copy of the + 2 mark sheet / UG mark sheet has to be submitted through the e-mail [email protected] mentioning the Candidate name, programme opted, Registration Number generated by the SBV application portal, well in advance to the date of the Common Entrance Test / Admission process.
All Entrance /Interview related communications like (Hall Ticket/Call Letter, Entrance/Interview Results and Counseling Intimation Order etc.,) will be sent through Application Portal as well as in our website only. Hence the candidates are advised to keep their User ID and Password for their future reference. No separate communication will be sent to any individual e-mail or SMS.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to keep himself / herself updated about the Common Entrance Test / Admission process through the Application portal.
