ABOUT THE COURSE
B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology course is offered in MGMCRI with an intake of 24 seats. The duration of the course is of 4 years (3 years+1 year of Internship). Operation theatre technologists have immense scope for working as assistants to surgeons in operation theatres of medical college hospitals, corporate and government hospitals in India and abroad. They are responsible for the preparation of operation theatre before and after surgery. They also assist in procedures like endoscopic surgery, digital angiogram, and lithotripsy.
Following the UGC guidelines, as an innovation, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences AHS from the year 2019-20, all Undergraduate courses have been designed with the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), wherein the students, depending upon their interests and aims, can choose interdisciplinary, intra-disciplinary and skill-based courses. The choice-based credit system not only offers opportunities and avenues to learn core subjects but also exploring additional avenues of learning beyond the core subjects for the holistic development of an individual. The CBCS curriculum thus provides an opportunity for the students to choose courses from the prescribed courses comprising a core, elective/minor or skill-based courses. The CBCS will undoubtedly groom the students with the best international academic practices.

Eligibility
Students who have passed in Higher Secondary with a minimum of 50% with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects with a good score in NEET are eligible to apply for this course. The candidate should be completing 17 years as on 31st Dec. Upper age Limit 35 years.
Relaxation
A relaxation of 5% in the required aggregate in Higher Secondary Examinations for this course will be given to OBC/SC/ST Candidates.
