SBV Model for Postgraduate Education

SBV forges ahead in Post Graduate medical education, with the incorporation of the Competency Based Learning and Training Model (CoBaLT) into our post graduate training programmes. It is responsible for setting up of high professional standards of learning and training and ensures training of postgraduates who, can function independently as specialists, researchers and teachers, in the Medical Fraternity, by the end of their course.

This academic model represents a progressive step by the university, with focused ideals towards achieving our Mission, Vision and goals to accommodate for the prevailing needs of our Nation.

The primary goal of the MD course in Respiratory medicine is to ensure residents provide gold standard health care in the field of pulmonary medicine. The MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology course at MGMCRI is standardized to produce competent practitioners who can provide quality care to the community in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological problems including screening, and management of all gynaecological cancers and the course of pregnancy.

At MGMCRI the clinical post-graduate training in MS Ophthalmology is intended to develop the resident with a blend of qualities of a clinical specialist, a teacher and a researcher. Residents are taught to offer the community, gold standard care in ophthalmic diagnosis as well as therapeutics, medical or surgical, in most of the common situations encountered at the level of health services.

The MS Orthopaedics course at MGMCRI offers residents training to identify and recognize various congenital, developmental, inflammatory, infective, traumatic, metabolic, neuromuscular, degenerative and oncologic disorders of the musculoskeletal systems. They are exposed to the different disciplines in Orthopaedics – Arthroplasty, Spine and Trauma allowing them to have a well-rounded experience.

 

MS – OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY

The MS Otorhinolaryngology course at MGMCRI trains the residents with the clinical Methodology as applied to diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of nose, throat and ear in adults and children. The residents get graded hands-on experience and opportunity to work in state of the art facility with dedicated, experienced faculty.
