ABOUT THE COURSE
M.Sc Clinical Nutrition course is offered at MGMCRI with an intake of 7 seats. The duration of the course is of two years. M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition was started in the year 2015. A nutritionist/dietician is the link between the patient and the medical professionals in assisting the difficulty in decision making about nutritional care. The candidate is responsible for planning food and nutrition programs, recommending dietary modifications, educating patients on diets that may help their condition of health, coordinating with health professionals in taking care of patients’ nutritional status. They can further specialization in areas of clinical dieticians, community dietician, consultant dieticians, management dieticians. They can be employed in the government health department, corporate hospitals, industries and schools and colleges for planning nutritional regiment. They can also take teaching and research career. They are also involved in nutritional surveys at National and International levels.
The student will be through the various role of nutrition in health and make, Physiological, anthropometric and biochemical assessment of the nutritional status. Student able to, plan a therapeutic diet according to the individual or patients requirement in disease conditions. Students will be posted in various clinical departments along with dietician to monitor and evaluate nutrition therapy. The student is trained to educate the patients and family regarding nutritional care to be followed. They were demonstrated in different comprehend logistics of enteral and parenteral nutrition.

Eligibility
The candidates should have passed Degree in any one of the following courses from a recognized institute with a minimum of 50% mark:·
- B.Sc., Food Science, and Nutrition
- B.Sc, Clinical Nutrition
- B.Sc., Home Science(with majors in Nutrition and Dietetics)
- B.Sc., Nursing or MBBS
- The upper age limit of 40 years.
