NOVEL MUSEUM & ITS INNOVATIVE METHODS
Objectives
- To make the students for better understanding of subject in practical way
- Making self explanatory models and specimen mounting
- Converting natural specimens into permanent study mode
Context
- Developing and creational activities in museum is an art.
- Though Forensic medicine museum is attached in every medical educational institutions, some of the novel concept and practice adopted in each institution make it non dual and different in its own way. Similarly we came up with the different idea in developing our departmental museum which is adopted for certain sub specialties in forensic medicine like sexual jurisprudence and organic irritant poisons.
The Practice
- The practice is based on converting natural specimens into permanent models and self-explanatory procedural methods.
- Here we came up with innovative ideas in developing our museum in which we collected some organic irritant poisonous seeds and plant substitutes for specimen mounting which doesn’t require any preservatives so called dry mounting and we utilized evidence collected kit which is mounted in a cardboard chart.
Evidence of Success
- The victory in this practice mainly because its unique in its own way no one has tried this way of mounting specimens so far in any other institution.
- As museum is the treasure of forensic medicine department, novel ideas in specimen mounting and models will make the undergraduate students to be more involved and curious about the subject.
