MGMC&RI in association with IAGES is organising PG MAS Masterclass for the benefit of young budding surgeons. This is a PG MAS Masterclass is a 2 day structured hands on training course in the basics of laparoscopy and endoscopy for the benefit of surgical postgraduates and this will held on 23 and 24 June 2023. This would be useful for the residents who are keen to learn the art and science of endoscopy and laparoscopy from the expert panel of faculty with live demonstrations and simulations stations.

We are delighted to announce that we would be organising Post Graduate Minimal Access Surgery Skill Course (PG MAS) on June 23 and June 24 , 2023 at MGMC RI, Pondicherry. This will be directed towards training PG students in Surgery and helping them learn the nuances of MAS at an early stage

Eligibility Crieteria For PG Mas Skill Course
- Only for PG students in Surgery
- IAGES membership is mandatory
- Certificate from the HOD stating name, duration of PG course and institute details is mandatory
OUTLINE OF TRAINING SCHEDULE
Day 1 : ABC of laparoscopic surgery - Each lecture for 20 min
- Outline of basic laparoscopic equipment and OT setup
- Essence of endo vision and ergonomics for laparoscopic surgery
- Principles of laparoscopic tissue approximation
MASTER VIDEO MODULE ( 15 MINS)
- Lap cholecystectomy step by step
- Lap appendicectomy step by step
- Lap groin hernia step by step – TAPP / TEP
HANDS ON MODULE ( 45 Mins Each)
- Hands on session on extracorporeal knots
- Demonstration of intra corporeal suturing
- Cleaning and disinfection demonstration
Panel discussion on complications during lap surgery (45 mins)
Day 2 : ABC OF FLEXIBLE ENDOSCOPY – 45 Mins
1. LECTURE MODULES ON FLEXIBLE ENDOSCOPY
- Interactive round table overview
- Endoscopy hardware and room set up
- Indication, consent and preparation and steps of diagnostic endoscopy
- Endoscopic atlas of Upper GI Disoders
- ABC of colonscopy
- Overview of therapeutic endoscopy
2. SIMULATION MODULE SESSION
Demonstration of steps of endoscopy and colonoscopy with plastic static models and various other virtual simulators
3. LIVE DEMONSTRATION OF ENDOSCOPY
Demonstration of steps of endoscopy and colonoscopy with plastic static models and various other simulators
Day 3 : The resident would be able to see recorded / live lap surgeries
The resident would also be able to present paper / E Poster / Video / Young Researcher Award with attractive prizes
