Greetings from IAGES Central Office
IAGES has now become one of the largest academic forums on the global stage of Minimal Access Surgery with close to 10000 members. Teaching, training, and knowledge sharing are the key attributes of our association. FIAGES (Fellowship in Essential laparoscopic Surgery), EFIAGES (Fellowship in Basic flexible endoscopy) FALS (Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic Surgery in 7 subspecialties namely Upper GI, HPB, Colorectal surgery, Bariatric surgery, Robotic surgery, Hernia, and Oncology) FAGIE ( Fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy in 4 subspecialties namely Colonoscopy, ERCP, Therapeutic Upper GI, and 3rd space endoscopy) are the regular fellowship courses held periodically in various institutions across our country.
Thanks to the Department of Surgery of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry we are pleased to bring FIAGES/EFIAGES to Pondicherry for the first time in the history of IAGES.
FIAGES is a 3-day fellowship course in Essential laparoscopic Surgery with lecture modules, hands-on lap suturing sessions, live operative sessions, and meet-the-professor sessions to learn the tricks of the trade from the masters. This will be followed by an assessment module with 100 questions MCQ, Viva, and a practical session on lap trainer suturing. Successful fellowship candidates will be conferred FIAGES (Fellowship of IAGES) during the convocation on 4th February 2024 in Chennai. Please note IAGES membership and registration to IAGES 2024 Chennai are prerequisites to obtaining fellowship certification.
