National Symposium: Gut Microbiome in Health and Diseases: Indian Perspectives

About

The gut microbiome plays a pivotal role in maintaining human health and has been linked to various diseases and clinical conditions during dysbiosis (imbalance of microbiome). The host physiology, development and immune functions are influenced by functional potential of human gut microbiome diversity. The human gut microbiome diversity is influenced by various factors such as diet, gender, aging, lifestyle, infection or disease conditions, antibiotics, host genetic diversity and various environmental factors. Gut microbiome research in India has gained significant interest and momentum in recent years. Studying the function of the gut microbiome in health and disease in the Indian population is becoming more and more important to researchers as dysbiosis associated diseases and clinical symptoms are keep on increasing in India.
