2019 saw the launch of the new CBME curriculum for the Indian Medical Graduates. The National Medical Commission emphasized training in soft skills and recommended the AETCOM module. One important element of the soft skills is ethics. Though some training has been imparted during the Revised Basic Course, most teachers would be underprepared for imparting training in this complex topic. As part of the Masters in Health Profession Education program, the Institute of Health Professions Education offers an elective module in ethics which is now offered as a certificate course to all health professions educators to enable them to understand the principles of ethics and impart training in ethics to other health professionals. This is an eight session certificate course covering the principles of ethics as applied to patient care, health professions education and research.
