Anti-Ragging Cell

ACTIVITY REPORT - ANTIRAGGING COMMITTEE-2018

As a part of sensitization program the XVI batch of students were sensitized regarding proceedings of Anti Ragging Committee of KGNC. The II Year B.Sc (N) students staged a Role play on “Zero tolerance of ragging” on 26.09.2018 at ground floor lecture hall, KGNC. The roll play conveyed the message pertaining to the ill effects of ragging, the action taken by the Government against ragging according to UGC Act. They also emphasized that KGNC is a ragging free campus to the new batch of students. Mrs.Sherin Nithya.S, class coordinator of XVI batch explained  the students regarding the National anti ragging helpline toll free number and helpline email id .She also informed the students   to submit the signed affidavits  of online under taking regarding anti ragging regulation of the institution from students and parents of the new batch.

ANTIRAGGING SENSITIZATION LECTURE- 2018

As per the directives of UGC & DCI, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri BalajiVidyapeeth, conducted an anti ragging sensitization program for the faculties, anti ragging committee members, hostel warden and few representative students. The anti ragging sensitization was conducted on 12th January 2018, 2.30 PM, at the conference hall, IGIDS. Prof. Sainath M.C, MDS (Orthodontist), Principal, Madha Dental College, Chennai, and a DCI inspector, gave a lecture on the psychosocial reasons of ragging and the legal actions against ragging at various levels from student to the institute level. The session ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Saravana Kumar, Principal, IGIDS, and as a token of appreciation a memento was given to the guest speaker.

Vidyal – The Dawn

“ Vidyal – The Dawn” depicting the menace of ragging. To ensure continued monitoring of ragging issues in the hostel after college hours, a night duty schedule for the teaching faculty was prepared and followed for a period of one month. To break- the –ice between the seniors and freshers a friendly sports meet was conducted on 23rd and 24th September during which throw-ball, basket ball and football matches were conducted. Feedbacks were obtained from the freshers regarding the anti-ragging measures that were taken. No incidents of ragging were reported. The campus is ragging free and the measures are being continued to enable the freshers to pursue their studies in a ragging-free environment.
