Prof. A. R. Srinivasan M.Sc., Ph.D., FIMSA

Prof. A. R. Srinivasan also known as Prof. Vellore A.R.Srinivasan is both an alumnus and former Faculty member at the department of Biochemistry, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He is the recipient of the University Topper award in Postgraduate Medical Biochemistry (Madras University, May 1987). Prof. Srinivasan possesses a doctorate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Mysore, having been a recipient of both UGC and CSIR Research Fellowship from the Government of India. He has been with Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research institute, a constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, ever since the first batch of MBBS students (Year 2001). Since year 2013, he has been holding the Office of The Registrar, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth.
His research interests include Diagnostic Enzymology, Enzyme Biotechnology and Diabetes mellitus. He has presented in national and international conferences and has more than 40 publications to his credit. One of his publications in HEART FAILURE CLINICS (USA), Elsevier is co-authored with Prof. Sampath Parthasarathy, the discoverer of oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein. Prof. Srinivasan is also a co-inventor of a patent in medicine category- a therapeutic modality for the inborn error of metabolism, namely phenylketonuria (Patent no. IN192845).

Dr. Srinivasan is a recognized Ph.D. Guide and an Examiner at several prestigious institutes and Universities including CMC Vellore, JIPMER, The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University etc. Dr. Srinivasan is a life member of Association of Clinical Biochemists India and a Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy.

Known as Dr. Vellore. A. R. Srinivasan in the Indian Classical (Carnatic) music   scenario, he is a vocalist, percussionist and composer, having more than 2000 original musical compositions (Lyrics and Music) to his credit. He has been bestowed with the “NadayogaShironmani” award by YOGNAT for his contributions to Indian Classical Music. Prof. Srinivasan has been featured in several music programs on premier TV channels including a documentary on rare percussion instruments , presented by CNN-IBN (CNN- News18).
