ANEMIA PREVENTION AND CONTROL
The Public Health Education Committee of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth organized a Lecture on“Anemia Prevention and Control” for the students drawn from VANIDASAN GOVERNMENT HIGH SCHOOL, SELIAMEDU on 14 th February 2019 at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth premises. Dr Jayaramachandran, Assistant Professor of Community Medicine of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute spoke eloquently in the vernacular language about the symptoms of anemia, the vulnerable population, simple techniques to diagnose anemia and nutritional supplementation to alleviate anemia. According to Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, such facile talks go a long way in casting an everlasting impression on the young minds,thereby creating awareness on holistic prevention and control rather than focusing our attention from the perspectives of therapeutic modalities, in isolation. Public health education focuses on helping groups of people, whether they are a small community group or a large population of people. The “Public Health Education Series” named “Arogiyam Arivoam” launched by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, aims to promote knowledge about Common Diseases and Health Conditions among the general public as well as patients & caregivers. This session is being planned for 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 2.00 pm.
