 
Indira Gandhi institute of Dental sciences , sri Balaji Vidyapeeth had marked the course commencement ceremony ,BDS –Batch of 2023 on 11.10.2023 where students and parents had been welcomed by Dr. Aruna Sharma , Principal, IGIDS . A view of SBV was delivered by Prof. Ashok Kumar Das ,Dean Academics,SBV followed by introduction of Students Council by Mr. Arvindasiva , President Student Council, IGIDS and introduction of SBV officials and various Heads of the Department by Dr. R. Saravana Kumar, Coordinator Academics,IGIDS . Dr. A. Santha Devy, Vice Principal , students had delivered the objective of the program to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students. The Hon’ble Vice chancellor, Prof. Nihar Ranjan Biswas addressed the gathering followed by messages from the Chancellor of SBV  delivered by Dr. Nirmal Coumare,, Health ,Hospitals and outreach , SBV . Professor R. Sathyanarayanan , HOD, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery had thanked the guests for their kind and valuable words and wished the First Year Students a hearty welcome to the college. Following the course commencement ceremony the code of conduct programme was conducted for the first year fresh undergraduates students. Vice Principal Students Affairs Dr. Santha Devy A, Professor and Head, Oral Pathology and Microbiology sensitised the students on the Code of Conduct. Hand book was also distributed among the students.Â
