National Unity Day – Indo-USA Acculturation Program

National Unity Day was celebrated by IGIDS on 31st October on the event of Ironman of India Shri Sardar Valbai Patel’s Birthday. On this day students of IGIDS march fasted from the college to the Medical College lecture hall (ground floor) and took Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge. The program started with students sharing their experience of hosting US students (Indo-US acculturation) followed by which they were honoured with a gift. Alumni, students and faculty who volunteered for Nilgiris Oral Health Program were honoured by Dr. Sathyanarayanan, Vice Principal, IGIDS, with a certificate and Mahatma Gandhiji’s Autobiography after which they shared their experience on serving rural villages of Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. The participants of Flash Mob which was conducted for educating people were also honoured on this prestigious occasion by Dr. Jagat, Head of the Department, Oral Medicine and Radiology. The winners of Quiz and Art completion were announced and rewarded with prizes by Dr John, Department of OMR and Dr. Senthil, of the Department, Public Health Dentistry. Finally, the program ended with National Anthem and a loud chant ‘Jai Hind’.
