National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP), Puducherry State Health Mission in collaboration with Department of Public Health Dentistry, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, organized NSS Awareness Program on ‘Healthy Lung: Breath clean air’ on 21st February 2019 at Second Floor, Lecture Hall, MGMCRI campus. Prof Saravana Kumar, Principal, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, inaugurated the program. Around 120 clinical students inclusive of the third year, final year, interns, postgraduates and faculties attended the program. Guest speaker Dr Suriya Kumar, State Consultant, NTCP, delivered a lecture on ‘Second Hand Smoking’. Guest speaker Dr Vishvaja Sambath, Research Coordinator, Healthy Energy Initiative, delivered a lecture on ‘Doctors for clean air’. Prof Saravana Kumar distributed prizes to the students participated in the drawing competition titled ‘Ill Effects of Tobacco’ held on 14th December 2018.
