 
Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics organized a one-day hands-on workshop on TADs as part of the 2nd International Health & Research Conference 2023. Following inauguration, the resource persons, Dr Badri, Dr Madhan and Dr Thirunavukkarasu were felicitated by Dr Aruna Sharma, Principal, IGIDS. The session was kickstarted with the online lecture by Dr Badri Honorary associate Professor at University of Manchester, UK, Professor in Orthodontics Balaji Dental college Chennai, BIHER, on the Overview of TADs and its evidence-based approach on the use in clinical Orthodontics. The second lecture by Dr Thirunavukkarasu Ramanathan, Professor and Head, Department of Orthodontics, Karpaga Vinayaga Dental College Chennai, was on how to achieve a good Stability of implants which was reflected via an extensive literature review. The last lecture was by Dr Madhan. B, Professor and Head, Department of Dentistry, JIPMER Puducherry, on the biomechanical aspects of TAD assisted Orthodontic treatment. A live demonstration of the placement of TADs was done by the Dr Pavithranand Head Department of Orthodontics, IGIDS, SBV along with Dr Madhan and Dr Thirunavukkarasu. Following lunch, the participants under the supervision of the resource persons placed 2 mini-implants on patients. The participants interacted with the resource persons and clarified their doubts and received feedback from them regarding the implants that were placed and better placement of TADs in the future.
