The Dental Education Unit of IGIDS organized an internal faculty development program
“Workshop on Communication Skills” from March 2 nd to 15 th . Thirteen faculties participated
in this workshop. The program was conducted at MEU hall, Annexe block between 2 PM and
4 PM for nine days. The resource persons were Prof. K. R. Sethuraman, Vice Chancellor,
SBV, Dr, Sunayana Choudhury, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, Dept. of
Psychiatry, MGMCRI and Dr. Abu Backer, Senior Resident, Dept. of Psychiatry, MGMCRI.
The sessions were packed with extensive didactic lectures, role plays, videos, buzz work,
think- pair- share sessions and pre & post- test assessments. Faculty felt the sessions to be
very useful, informative and also felt motivated to introduce training in communications
skills in UG & PG curriculum.
