 Department of Community Health Nursing and Department of Medical and Surgical Nursing Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College joined hands with Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry and organized a MEGA HEALTH MELA on 28.01.2019 & 29.01.2019 at Kirumampakkam and Embalam. On the first day, the programme started with inauguration at AnnaiAbiramiMandabam, Kirumampakkam, Puducherry. Thiru.V.Narayanaswamy Honorable Chief Minister of Puducherry, Thiru.R.Radhakrishnan Member of Parliament(LokSabha), Thiru.M.Kandasamy Honorable Welfare Minister, Thiru. Malladi Krishnan Rao Honorable Health Minister has been the Chief Guests. An awareness rally based on theme prevention and control of Mosquito-borne diseases was conducted by 100 students of B.Sc (N) II years KGNC. Followed by the inauguration our students also arranged for stalls inculcating the awareness of Dengue and Malaria prevention. 25 students of B.Sc IV years staged the Human Puppet show enforcing the theme on prevention and control of Microplastic. Around 5,000 numbers of general public benefited. The stall and Human Puppet show programme were organized again by our students on 29th at VTB Manbabam, Embalam, Puducherry followed by the programme we donated the mosquito model to National Vector Borne Disease Control Unit. There was enthusiastic participation from the students and General Public who were benefited and gave positive feedback to our programme.
