 Women cell and NSS of KGNC commemorated the International Women’s Day by organizing Self Defence Training program for Nursing students on 16.03.18 at First-floor lecture Hall, KGNC. The program was started with a welcome speech, addressed by Mrs.Elavarasi.R, Asst.Prof, NSS Coordinator, KGNC. Dr.Renuka, Principal, unfolded the Theme of International Women’s Day 2018 “Press For Progress” and gave a speech on “Self Defence and Its Importance” among girls. Our Special invitee Mrs.Hemamalini, Women Police demonstrated karate techniques to the Nursing students to protect themselves. She gave a motivational speech on Women’s welfare and importance of self-defense among adolescent girls. She inspired our students by narrating her own experience and achievements. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs, Rajeswari, Asso.Prof, Women cell coordinator. Students gave feedback that program was very useful and gave confidence to them to fight against violence /abuse. KGNC had purchased Sanitary Napkin Dispenser, where girls can get the napkin with just by dropping Rs.5 Coin, and the napkin is dispensed.
