Current Role of Music Therapy – An Evidence-based Approach

Center for Music Therapy Education and Research(CMTER), Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry, conducted an International Conference in  Music therapy on 20-07-2019(Saturday) titled “Current role of Music Therapy- An Evidence-based Approach” as part of the International Health Research Convention 2019, conceived by our Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija and organized by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry. between 19-21st July 2019

The International Conference was organized by the Director of CMTER, Prof. Sumathy Sundar, the organizing chairman.

The conference consisted of eminent resource persons with decades of experience in academics and research from international and national levels.   Prof Gerhard Tucek, Director, and Dr. Claudia Wenzel, from IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, Krems, Austria.   Prof Helen Odell- Miller, Director and Prof. Jorg Fachner, Co-Director from Anglia Ruskin University, UK. Dr. Carol Lotter, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Dr. Vinoo Alluri from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad.

The conference was well received by the registered participants who were left asking for more.   The delegates were a mixed group of music students, music therapy students, psychologists, Scientists, Doctors arriving from a varied number of cities and countries as Chennai, Bangalore, Kerala, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengal, Ahmedabad, South Africa, UK, China, and Hongkong.

The feedback received was positive with the interest to attend more of such events and adding varied topics we could use for the future.
