NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON “PUBLISHING IN HIGH INDEXED JOURNALS”

In the rapidly evolving landscape of academic scholarship, publishing in high-indexed journals has emerged as an indispensable need of the hour. As the pursuit of knowledge reaches new heights, researchers and educators in nursing are tasked with not only generating innovative insights but also ensuring their effective dissemination to the global community. Keeping in
view, The Nursing Education Unit of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Chennai Campus, organized the National Level Online Faculty Development Program on “Publishing in High Indexed Journals” with 12 SBV Credit Points. The main aim of conducting this FDP is to inculcate the principles of publishing the research articles in high indexed journals & Understanding the barriers in dissemination of research findings in high indexed journals and to improve the strategies among Faculty of Medical & health science professionals. The program was held from 6 th to 21 st September 2023, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 2.00pm to 4.00 pm for total 12 hours through Online. Sessions were held on all 6 days covering various topics such as Understanding scientific Publication with Impact, the art of publishing in Indexed journal and successful writing for academic publishing , Select a quality journal for academic publications, Journal metrics, Evading predatory publications, Deal with plagiarism in publications, methods to Increase research visibility, Strategies to improve the citation, Challenges in publishing in indexed journals and how to overcome, ways to write the references quickly and easily, how to publish a book and analyse the challenging landscape on open access. A total of 200 delegates participated in the Faculty Development Program from various fields like Nursing, Medical, and Allied Health Sciences including teaching faculty, Phd Scholars and PG students from various colleges and universities across India. E-certificates were issued to the delegates. The participants gave a feedback that the sessions were very much useful and informative for understanding the strategies in publishing in high indexed journals. They also expressed their interest to plan and conduct such kind of programs in future too.
