 
Dental and General screening camp and awareness rally on World No Tobacco Day (07/06/2023)
This program was organized by Rural Health training Centre of Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI in collaboration with Dental department of SSSMCRI and Nursing college (SSSCON). The program started with a health awareness rally, emphasizing on the ill effects of tobacco. Faculty in-charges of RHTC (Dr.R.Sindhuri) and UHTC (Dr.Pragnya Rettayan), Medical Officer of RHTC (Dr. Elavarasi), Nursing faculty (Mrs. Sujatha), Interns and nursing students posted in RHTC participated in the rally. The rally started from RHTC, Sembakkam and ended at CSI primary school, Acharavakkam. Followed by the rally, dental screening and general health check-up camp was conducted at CSI primary school, Acharavakkam. Dental screening was carried out by Dr.Manikandan, head of the Dental department of SSSMCRI and general health check up including BP screening was carried out by RHTC and UHTC centre incharges and Medical Officer with the help of Interns and nursing students posted at RHTC. Around 75 people benefitted from the program. Patients with general and dental health issues were referred to SSSMCRI for further management. The program was well received by the participants.
