 As a part of Commemoration of World TB Day, a health education session was organized for 50 participants (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act employees) at Acharavakkam village. Welcome address was given by Dr. R.Sindhuri, AP, which was followed by Introduction about Tuberculosis by Dr. Fredrick, SR and Unfolding the World TB day theme of 2023 – “Yes We Can End TB” was done by Dr. Hariharan AP. Signs and symptoms, risk factors of TB, investigations and treatment aspects of TB were covered by MBBS elective posting students (Miss.Gayathri, Mr. Gopinath and Mr. Selvaganapathi) through flip book presentation. Prevention of Tuberculosis was explained by interns Mr. Rajesh and Miss. Praveena. Do’s and don’ts about Tuberculosis was explained by Dr. Rajalakshmi PG. A short role play was performed by a team of RHTC interns (Mr. Pranav as patient, Mr Ruban as patient’s friend, Miss. Monisha as Doctor, Dr. Preethi as lab technician. A brief summary about Tuberculosis talk was given by Dr. Pragadeesh Raja AP. Pledge on eliminating Tuberculosis was administered by Dr. Sona, AP. Various queries raised by the participants were clarified. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Elavarasi, MO. RHTC. The session was conducted following social distancing and personal protective measure.
