The Workshop was conducted by the Department of Pharmacology in association with Indian Pharmacological Society (Puducherry Chapter) on Nov 21st 2019. Registrations started by 8.45 Am. Around 15 external and 30 internal delegates registered and attended the workshop. The organizing chairperson & The President IPS (Puducherry chapter), Dr. Manimekalai K. delivered the welcome address. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Lokesh S. Professor & Head, General Medicine, MGMCRI on “Overview of GCP and Current Regulatory Requirements for Clinical Trials”. The next talk was on “Ethics in Clinical Trials” given by Dr. Isabella Topno, Professor & Head, Pharmacology, PIMS. Following a tea break, the session continued with a speech on “Clinical trial documents” by Dr. Mirunalini R. Asst. Professor – Pharmacology, JIPMER. Following a working lunch, Dr. Jervin Mano, Regional Medical Advisor, ABBOTT Health Care, India, delivered his talk on “Safety reporting & compensation issues”. This was followed by a SKYPE session by Dr. Harsha M. Shetty, Medical Affairs, SEQIRUS Pty LTD, Australia on “Roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, sponsors, institution & investigator”. Following a tea break Dr. Mirunalini R. Asst. Professor – Pharmacology, JIPMER. Gave a brief overview on “Data Monitoring”. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Barathane D, organizing secretary of the event.
