Dr. Anuj Sharma, WHO, Technical Officer, New Delhi enlightened the crowd regarding “WHO perspective on AMR containment”. Dr. Dhanapal, Professor & Head of Microbiology, KAVP delivered a lecture on “Applications of WHONET other than AMR. Dr. Sarada Devi KL, Professor & Head of Microbiology, Trivandrum Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Kavita Raja, Professor & Head of Microbiology, Sree Chitra Tirunal (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram delivered lectures on “Development of KARSAP – a model for other States” and “Infection control strategies in Super-Specialties” respectively. Dr. Jayalakshmi J, Professor of Microbiology, PSGIMS, Coimbatore was “Positive approach towards bundle care to reduce HAI” and Dr. V. Jayapal, Professor of Microbiology, MGMCRI, Pondicherry delivered a lecture on “Infection Control Strategies at MGMCRI”. This was towards starting an action plan for AMR containment for Pondicherry and neighboring states as successfully implemented for Kerala (KARSAP).
