 
Conventional Denture Treatment takes around 5 to 6 visits by the patient to avail services. With the installation of the CADCAM kit at the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, the patient can avail of the same service in just two appointments.
The installation was from DentCare. which is Asia’s Number one and World’s Number 2 laboratories that are pioneers in CADCAM Systems. Dr. VP Rao, Vice President, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, opened the kit to be put to use for the department’s patient service providers. A day-long Continuing Dental Education program was conducted by the Department in the form of an interactive workshop for the in-house students. Participation was also from the neighboring colleges like Government Dental College, Villupuram Dt, Adhi Parasakthi Dental College, Melmaruvathur, Ragass Dental College, Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences and Venkateswara Dental College, Puducherry. A few faculty and general practitioners also enrolled in the program.
The program was conducted on the 10th of October 2022 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, by Dr. Merlyn George, QA Head, Removable Prosthodontics, Division of the DentCare Laboratory in the form of a sensitization lecture, and demonstration on live patients. The participants were also allowed to have hands-on experience with patients. They were able to use the Baltic Denture Kit with the Baltic denture material to comprehend the clinical workflow used in CADCAM dentures. The program was organized by Dr. Pazhani Prasath, Sr. Lecturer, and Dr. Manoharan PS, Head of the Department, and supported by other faculty and postgraduates.
