The Department of Periodontology, IGIDS under student enrichment program had conducted a Contest on “Periodontist day” (12th May 2021). European Federation of Periodontology celebrates May 12th as ‘Gum Health Day. The contest was conducted to create awareness of the importance of Gingival health. The contest consisted of a Slogan contest on Periodontal disease awareness and timely treatment, a Selfie contest, sketch/Drawing contest. The stakeholders of the program were the First Year to Final Year B.D.S., Interns, and Post Graduates.
A total of 20 entries were present and out of which 2 best under each category were awarded prizes (Food coupons). The program encouraged the students to display their knowledge of periodontology through their artistic skills. All the slogans and sketches will be used as educational tools to create public awareness. All the participants were awarded an e-certificate.
