DEAD TALES – AUTOPSY TECHNIQUES

The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry conducted a CME Cum Workshop on “DEAD TALES– AUTOPSY TECHNIQUES & EMBALMING WORKSHOP” on the different types of postmortem examination and the various methods of embalming. The CME was conducted on 02nd December 2022, at B.C. Roy Hall, Ground Floor, Medical College campus, MGMCRI. The event to be conducted was decided to be a knowledge bestowing; hence workshop was made mandatory for the postgraduates. The event was jointly organised by the Department of Anatomy and The Scientific and Academic Forum, MGMCRI. External speakers from reputed Institutions were invited for the sessions to share their knowledge and experience for the CME. Session 1 was on “VOLUNTARY WHOLE BODY DONATION PROGRAMME WITH RECENT UPDATES IN EMBALMING”, by Prof. Rajasekhar S.S.S.N., Additional Professor, Dept. of Anatomy, JIPMER Puducherry. Session 2 was on “AUTOPSY TECHNIQUES AND ITSIMPLICATIONS”, by Prof. Rathod S.N. Professor & Head, Dept. of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry. Session 3 was on “MOKSHA” by Dr. Anitha Nancy T, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy, MGMCRI Puducherry. Session 4 was on “CADAVER PRESERVATION AND CONSERVATIVE EMBALMING” by Prof. Prabavathy G, Professor, Department of Anatomy, MGMCRI, Puducherry.
