 The workshop was conducted & organized by the Department of Pharmacology in collaboration with CIDRF and VATECH – India on 8th Aug 2019. The theme of the workshop is Small X-rays and oral sensors in animal research. The registrations started by 10.45Am & around 15 participants registered for the event. The organizing chairperson Dr. Manimekalai K, introduced the speakers. Dr. J.M Pandian briefed the critical usage and importance of handheld X-rays which are primarily used in dentistry that can be repurposed for use in small animal experiments. The delegates from the VATECH company did an elaborate demonstration about the machine, its calibration, operation, and positioning of oral sensors for maximum sensitivity and resolution. This was followed by a hand on demonstration on mice and rats. The session ended with a discussion regarding safety, radiation hazard & applications. Dr. Uma N, the organizing secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
