The world Diabetes day was organized by Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing in Rural Health training centre at Sembakkam on 15.11.2021 on the theme “Access to Care” at 10.30 am under the guidance of Principal Dr. Helen Shaji. The main aim was to create awareness among people about the control and preventable nature of Diabetes mellitus in our community.
The Diabetes awareness programme started with the welcome address by Dr. T. Sujatha, Professor, SSSCON. The second-year B.sc Nursing students of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing depicted a Health talk to create awareness on control and prevention of Diabetes. They explained about the causes, signs and symptoms, lab investigations, and dealt in detail about the control and prevention of Diabetes mellitus. The Students also demonstrated the foot care and stressed its importance. Food exhibitions on Foods to be taken by the Diabetes clients are exhibited to create awareness about Diabetes diet. About 26 participants(General population) attended the program. Participants doubts were clarified. The participants feedback obtained that the programme was very useful.
