 Department of Orthodontics, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, SBV University, conducted a 2-day “Hands-on Workshop on Dental Photography” on 2nd and 3rd December 2022 at the MEU hall, Annexe block and Conference Hall, IGIDS, SBV main campus Puducherry. The resource person of this workshop was Dr Madhavan Nirmal MDS, Professor and Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Cuddalore Government Dental college, Chidambaram. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr Saravana Kumar, Principal, IGIDS. A total of 20 participants registered for the workshop. Day 1 of the workshop included lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience on the basics of photography, relating to the aperture size, shutter speed, focal length and ways to manipulate it for obtaining a good photograph. Day 2 of the workshop Involved topics on Dental photography and ways It was different from the general photography. It also included lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience on different dental views that are commonly taken for documentation purposes. The workshop concluded with a Vote of thanks, presentation of certificates, obtaining feedback from the participants and with a high tea.
