Tobacco cessation Centre at Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in collaboration with the National tobacco control programme and National Oral Health Program launched various events to commemorate National Science Day. Prof. Dr. Nihar Ranjan Viswas Vice-chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth in the presence of Dr. Aruna Sharma – Principal Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Dr. Suriya Kumar, State consultant-NTCP inaugurated the following events.
- EVENT 1: Launch of value-added course for interns on Tobacco cessation counseling supported by NTCP.
- EVENT 2: Launch of oral health care mobile game application titled DENTECH – “PLAY THE GAME, WIN THE FEAR” developed by resident CRRI.
- EVENT 3: Signing of 4 MOUs with NGOs for Oral health care outreach and scientific collaboration.
- EVENT 4: Launch of Volume II of first of its kind Tamil Journal – ‘VAAINALAKALANGIYAM’ by Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry, TN Chapter.
