Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing has been involved in the Covid Vaccination drive under Semmencherry UPHC from 1.09.21 to 30.09.21. BSC (N) II Year (12in Nos.) Students with Dr.T.Sujatha, Professor, and Mr.Dinesh, Nursing Tutor, were involved in this drive organized at Semmencherry Urban Primary health center. Daily 2-3 camps were organized in various places such as Singarathope, Housing board, Kumaran Nagar, Erikkarai under the guidance of  Dr.C.T.Shanthi, Zonal Medical Officer, Sholinganallur, Ms.Dhanadeepam, Maternal and Child Health Officer, Dr.Sekkizhar, Medical Officer, Semmencherry UPHC, Ms.Tamil kodi, Sector Health Nurse and other Community health workers. Students enthusiastically involved in this drive by motivating the people at their houses to get vaccinated. Around 5000 people were vaccinated with Covaxin / Covishield and also insisted to follow basic precautionary measures after vaccination such as Face masks, hand hygiene, and physical distancing in public places must not be abandoned just because a vaccine has been taken. Cough/sneeze etiquette also needs to be followed. Students involvement was appreciated by the Medical Officers.
